Bernadette Fahey is exercising outdoors – in her workout clothes. In a new social media post the Bern Worldwide fitness founder, who recently announced her engagement to Jordan Sukkar, looks sensational during an intense workout session. "Wowowow," commented one of her followers. "Stunning! 😍🔥," added another. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

"It's 80:20," Fahey told Women's Health about her approach to diet. "You're not going to be perfect all the time — don't beat down on yourself if you're not. We're human beings, a big part of life is enjoying all of the fun things, whether it's eating fried foods or having a glass of wine or having a late night."

Fahey recommends starting the day with hot water with fresh lemon juice. "The acidity from the lemon kickstarts enzymes in your stomach which will help you digest food and speed up your metabolism. Starting with a hot drink that is not coffee can also help reduce caffeine intake," she says.

Fahey also recommends prioritizing self-care. "Identify self-care activities that fill up your cup and bring you joy—this could be a walk in the park, a swim at the beach or having a sauna. Schedule this in your calendar like you would a meeting everyday today," she says.

Fahey is big on meditation. "I've always placed a really big emphasis on working out the physical body, but also the mind and the nervous system," she told Women's Health. "Each of my sessions begins with breath work and a mindful meditation, and I use organic peppermint oil that further helps facilitate the breath and ground the mind that, 'Okay, we're here, we're getting ready to work out.'" "When you meditate, you may clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress," says the Mayo Clinic. Benefits include:

  • Gaining a new perspective on stressful situations
  • Building skills to manage your stress
  • Increasing self-awareness
  • Focusing on the present
  • Reducing negative emotions
  • Increasing imagination and creativity
  • Increasing patience and tolerance
  • Lowering resting heart rate
  • Lowering resting blood pressure
  • Improving sleep quality
