From bulldozing on opponent boxes to dating Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce can do almost everything. But there’s one other aspect that he’s quite famous for, and that is his dance moves.
Last Tuesday, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end grooved to the tune of Aretha Franklin‘s 1967 hit, “Respect,” at a charity event. ‘Operation Breakthrough‘ which provides safety and education for underprivileged children held a local event to promote their vision.
Travis Kelce attended the gathering and took part in a short dance-off. He shook his hips and performed with a small group of women in pink cowboy hats for a “lipsync battle” talent show. If there was ever any doubt that the 6-foot-5 athlete could move effortlessly, a YouTube video from the event would make everyone’s jaw drop. Not only did Kelce clap his hands in the air while jumping up and down; he topped it off with a high knees-and-spirit fingers combo.
However, the best part of the performance was yet to come. The 2023 Super Bowl MVP finished the routine with his iconic red zone twerk. Even Beyonce would be proud of that.
Travis Kelce’s dance genes came from his mother
It may be hard to believe for most that one of the most eligible bachelors in the NFL is a mama’s boy. More specifically, Donna Kelce‘s boy. Travis has always been very vocal about her influence on his life and upbringing. Not only that, he also acquired the dance genes from his mother.
Travis Kelce told People Magazine in April:
That's where I get all my dance moves from. I get them from that side of the family for sure.Travis Kelce to People Magazine in April
The 34-year-old also credited his mom for his chipper personality:
My entire upbringing has just been to kind of fuel people with life, not a drain," he said. "Provide something instead of draining people out of it.
Since Taylor Swift entered the frame, Donna and the ‘Cruel Summer’ songstress have become close. The two have been filmed chatting and enjoying Travis’ darting runs during matchdays. Incidentally, the Chiefs are unbeaten when the 12-time Grammy winner attends their games.
On top of that, her presence has done wonders for Kelce’s social media life. He has gained 1.1 million Instagram followers since his public romance with Taylor Swift began. According to ESPN’s Adams Schefter, the eight-time pro bowler took 23 months to cross 1 million. But as Swift and him started seeing each other on Instagram, they saw 3.9 million extra followers, and it continues to grow.
A few sources have claimed that Travis will join Taylor on her ERAS Tour trip to Argentina. She is scheduled to perform in Buenos Aires from November 9 to November 11. The Chiefs will be on their bye week at that time so Kelce can fly with her.
